Removing Volvo DP props

I've owned this boat for a year and a half, and have had the props off 4 times, and greased them every time I put them back on. the last time was probably 4-6 months ago.

stupid ---> I forgot to pull the outdrive up before pulling the boat out, and damaged the props. I was going to take them down to get reworked, but the inside prop won't come off. Everything else went as expected without any difficulty at all. (the cone bolt, the cone, the outside prop, the spin-off retaining collar...)

it's a 1994 dp-c1. am i just forgetting something? or do i have bigger problems? I tried using a rubber mallet to no avail. tricks? ideas?

I didn't see "flange nut" in your list.

edit:
I don't see it on there in the pics, so you must have removed it. there isn't anything else. Maybe some penetrating oil

Very common, especially in salt water. Those props need to come off every 3 months, 4 at the most. You could try some heat if you're careful. Once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy. However, you have to use a puller once they're stuck. In extreme cases you'll pull the prop off the hub, then cut the rubber off, then very carefully cut the hub off the shaft.

with how well everything in there is still lubricated, i don't think it's from 'neglect.' i could be wrong... (that, and all 4 times in the last 1yr 2 months that i've removed both props, a 4yr old could easily slide both props on/off the shaft.)

someone suggested that you can 'spin' the prop (on the hub?) at this point, i fear the prop is lost. if i use a puller, and the hub is still on the shaft, (this may be a very novice question) can a new hub be pressed into the prop?

I wouldn't say it's neglect either but it's just what we see with Volvo DPs. The Merc twin deal isn't like that at all, grease once a year works fine.

We use a puller and heat. If it doesn't come off we leave the puller on overnight. Sometimes it pops loose, sometimes not. If we pull hard enough the prop comes off the hub like I mentioned. Yes, we just get another hub pressed in the prop.

sounds promising, at least it's not a 'throw-away' prop.

does a penetrating oil work for something like this? or 'wrong application...'
