I have a Prestolite power trim pump on a 1972 mercruiser 888. I have to replace the line from reverse lock valve to the manifold under the gimble. Can anyone give me advise as to how to accomplish this without pulling motor. Hose broke off fitting right inside of manifold. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Power trim hose replacement

If you look on the transom shield on the back of the boat (outside) and look at where the trim hoses go into a manifold. That manifold has 2 nuts that holds it on. Remove them an pull the manifold down to access the hoses going to the inside.
You will need a new gasket, and don't forget to mark where the hoses go.
