Someone help quick question Cable question

Ok I have a 99 Maxum 2400 scr with a Quicksilver 3000 commander classic thorttle lever. I need to know what calbes go where on the unit in back I have one for throttle and one for shifting and I have 4 spots it can go on unit in back connect 2 upper and 2 lower positions. Do they go on both on upper or one lower and one upper. Please help confused

Don your the best, but I have a bravo 3 with 2 props what rotation is it that I use Never mind I just need to read post
But how hard is it to set cables on bracket on motor I heard you need a alignment tool

Ok I got it set up correct, but they cable doesnt move in reverse forward ok do I have the cable set out to far so I maxed out travel?

Thanks Don How about another one. I replaced the gimble and bellows etc I put it all back together started all good shifted ok now the shifter connection from cable to outdrive popped off so pulled off outdrive is there a trick or maybe something I can do to that metal clip that the cables goes in to so that wont happen again maybe a wire tie to hold it into clip so it doesnt pop out again.

That linkage is probably bent. Best to just replace it. They get bent sometimes when the drive has to be forcefully shifted out of gear when the engine is not running.

Are you talking cable from hand lever to motor where it mets cable to outdrive?Thanks

Im referring to the linkage and latch assembly in the outdrive that holds the cable end.

You can replace the connector that the cable goes into in outdrive? The itme A in the pic can be replaced?

When putting outdrive back on do I leave gear in neutral forwrad reverse setting?
