I have a pre mix 2000 175 Johnson on a 20 bayliner trophy wa cutty for about 3 yrs now . It runs good but never been able to get max rpm out of it (Tuned to the max ). I have tired every prop and height and weight and still it's best is around 4700 - 5000 max and thats with throwing every one and thing overboard . I have 100psi on two bottom cyl and 110psi on the rest of the cyl on a compression test , that was tested on a warm motor with wot . She does smoke a bit , could I be getting blowby on a cyl ? even if I am in tolarance with the compression ? thanks for the input jjb !

Re: good compression !

Compression is within spec. Something else may be wrong.
