Re: "starcraft"
People of the aluminum boat,
What is the most desirable/saught after, boat starcraft ever made????
inquiring minds want to know.

(Possible find in the field)
I would say that it more depends on what you intend to use the boat for. For an all around family cruiser and fishing boat, any of the SS boats seem popular. For me, I stay away from anything over 18', which I would say is the most I care to deal with loading and unloading by myself.
I currently own a Starchief 18' with an outboard, it's my only cabin boat. How ever I use my 14' Seafarer far more often.
I tend to stay away from anything built in the later years, I've just seen too many with corrosion issues around here. My Starchief is a 1967 and corrosion free. I junked two 1995 SS models with corroded keels and transom seams. Once they started pouring in foam vs using cut foam I think the hulls just didn't last as long.
My personal favorite, and one I've yet to find for myself is the Sportsman V hull from about 1967 or so. That was a center console fishing oriented boat.
My second favorite would be a 16' Sea Farer, but this is another I've yet to run across around here.
I bought my Starchief several years ago but for me, my needs have changed and pretty much prefer to have a plain open boat for fishing these days. I do have to admit though, the Starchief is nice when its cold outside, the cabin and windshield block the cold air and the cabin gives you a place to hide from the wind. There's something to be said for a boat that can have a power inverter and coffee maker waiting for you on a cold day out fishing.
