Well i've owned a lot of boats in my 55 years of livin right ..."I Hope" but I just sprung for a 20 FT sylvan pontoon 1997 mdl with a 40 hp mariner ... after replacing a jet asembley ,,, can't spell ... i have to say as of now 2 month's of havin it on Lake Lanier in GA, I can't believe I waited so long ... it's the way to go ... striper fishin, crappie fishin, even bass fishin !!! My wife has never had so much fun, now I just have to find the gas money and time to use it ... Great Fun !!!!

pontoons are just baout the perfect boat, they will do about anything you wwant them to do.

Sylvna is a good boat, you shoudl be happy with it.

Gas in my 90HP Party Barge 20 has gone a long way this summer, I'm still using the gas I put filled up with in June. We haven't pulled a tube or skier yet, and I know that will suck a lot of gas but for cruising around our smallish lake it's done real well.

Yesterday was our 5th trip out and we spent half of it being chased back by a storm from the other end of the lake.

X2 to the OP! We got a pontoon this year too...... 22' Bennington, 90 Yamaha 4 stroke. .

The way we conserve gas is to just cruise (3500 RPM) out to a nice quiet spot and anchor out for most of the day. If we don't ride a lot at WOT we can go all day long on about ? a tank (12 gal).

We have a toon on Lanier also and really enjoy it. I have a hard time catching any Bass on this lake as it is very deep with little structure. Any suggestions?

I had surgery on Thursday, because after two years they found they did not grow in my bladder. I had to wait for biopsy results and nothing, nada, zip cancer treatments so no more for now.

Except go fast! But that's not what we buy them for. We buy them to do everything else you could ever want a boat to do.

Define "fast". I go about 38MPH WOT. Lots of pontoons in the 40 to 50MPH range and Playcraft has boats that go 70+

I have a 1988 20ft Bass Tracker with a 40hp Johnson and it does everything I want it to do. Maybe it's just me but I cannot understand folks spending money to get an extra mile or two of speed...Pontoons are the cruisers of the waterway...If you want speed, buy a speed boat! Just my opinion!

Well we ... the wife, dog, and I ... been out last 3 days now and it's been great. Wanted a bass boat all my life and now I got it and my living room all on the toon. Now I just got to find a way to put the big screen on here !!!!

If you have a sun deck that opens, whatcha do is get a big screen wallmount and attach it to the underside of the sun deck. Then you just open the deck and viola' there's the big screen. Now then about the satalite dish....
