Donated Charity boat, trim not working

Our charity was donated a boat for our youth outreach program, the owner said the trim did not work when he last tested it, and does not know where the problem is. The trim is at the up position.

Before I actually spend the charities money on repairs at the Marina, I was thinking that I may be able to fix and resolve the problem myself (more money for the kids).

The boat 19.6ft sea pro citation royal has a volvo penta 3.0 gs motor, with sx cobra drive with a dual battery set up, the motor runs fine, with new starter, alternator, water pump, etc..

When I push the trim buttons on the throttle, nothing no sound or clicking what so ever.

Tried locating the fuse that may be connected to the throttle buttons, but no luck finding it or finding the relays for the trim motor. I found one relay that is near the starter hanging connected to what looks like a rubber grommet, but not grounded to the engine.

Any ideas where I can find the fuses, or if there is a fuse box in this boat?

Thank you in advance.

There are different styles of trim pumps so diagnosing problems will vary. If you're not getting any noises or movement, I would start with the electrical. Since you don't see the two relays on the pump like this style, http://www.volvopentastore.com/SX-M-MAC-MDA-MDB-MLT-Power-Trim-PUMP/dm/*******.974274811--**********.765520145--store_id.366--view_id.312981 here's a thread with an electrical troubleshooting guide on the OMC / Volvo style that has the one piece relay board and circuit breaker.

This style pump is this one http://www.volvopentastore.com/Sx-Dp-S-Power-Trim-Tilt/dm/store_id.366--view_id.312361

This was the style used on my SX drive and let me determine that mine had a bad ground wire.

What is either the full model number or even the SN of the engine. There are a couple of different systems used on the 3.0GS models.

Thanks nitwhit,

I found out the problem, the 50 amp breaker going to the trim motor is not working correctly, removed it and going to buy another one, otherwise the trim works perfected if connected directly to a power source.
