Orange fuel?

I have a 59' sportwin that uses a pressurized tank. Im getting orange fuel out of the tank. I have taken the fitting off so I can pump the gas out. It will be orange for a few pumps then gets back to blue. I let it set for 5 minutes and it pumps orange again for a few pumps. Is there something I can do to clean this out faster so I can use the motor? I figure its the varnish in the pick up.....Thanks, Roy

Sounds like the effects of Ethanol to me...

Will the ethanol clean this out on its own and eventually stop the orange coloring of the fuel? Can I run the motor with the fuel turning orange or will it clog the filter?

Roy,
It is the Ethanol that is turning the fuel orange. You need to get rid of it, then use Sta-Bil or Startron fuel stabilizer with each fill-up...

The tank is clean with no rust. I can dump gas out of the tank and its blue. Should I keep pumping the fuel out as it turns orange until it no longer changes or just add the stabil to it now and run it?

Stabil is worthless. Star-tron corrects all ethanol problems, and stabilizes fuel. Spend a few bucks more, its worth it!

Just put a filter on it and run it or you could do some off the wall stuff like others might say here. You got rust in the tank.
