my boat have a hard time plane out unless someone stand at the bow for a minute or two. just recently change fuel/water separator, fuel filter, rebuild carbs, new spark plugs, new power pack. the primer bulb stay firm all the time, i m so confuse.
my boat has hydraulic trim/tilt does that make a differrent? because i didn't have this problem before.
Sure, the motor should be turning 5800 @ WOT after planing. Run it again and get it to plane. Then adjust trim for maximum RPM and note the value. Figure about 150 to 200 RPM increase for each inch of pitch reduction, and select a select a new propeller accordingly.
You motor will perform way better and last much longer as well.
when you say "because i didn't have this problem before" did the boat used to get on plane quicker? Do you remember what RPMs the engine Used to get up to? You may be dropping a cyl, I would run a compression test and spark check before investing in another prop.
do the crossflows run that high and rpm???
I know the 60 degree loopers are generally run a little higher than the books WOT range...but I hadnt heard that the crossflows would run that rpm as well...
