now that our President has backed himself in a corner with the democratic elections in palistine what should we do ?
it seems now its a matter of 2 democratically elected govts to get along WITHOUT our intervention. was it nasty the way isral tossed out some palistines in the 45-48 time frame? does palistine have any valid issues over the expanded borders after 67?
the one solid thing all sides have to see is isreal is a state, palistine is a state.
both have democratically elected govts. its no longer our fight. we can help negotiate but Bush is on soft ground now. very soft.
so what should we as a nation do?
anybody ever watched any of the video of how the isralis tossed folks from their breakfast tables in 46?
so I can see some of the palistines issues but they have to understand that iseral has a right to exist as well as they do.
where will it end as the population of both nations increases?
sorry about the spelling, ill blame the aliens and the moving lights :)

Forgot your tinfoil hat again? :) :) Seriously, we will just have to wait & see what transpires.....I don't think that any Arab country really thinks that Israel has a right to exist.....They will only go along with it if they are forced.....I think the sh!t will hit the fan....It will get real interesting.......We can only watch & play the anti-terror card if we can ;) ......JK

I am in favor of neither side. but pragmatically most the borders of the modern world were drawn after WWI and then again after WWII. sometimes without the blessings of those that acually lived there.
nothing I can do about that.
however, as the world population and technology has expanded it seems there should be a negotiation of all the worlds borders. in fact it should have started 30 years ago.
should the Kurds in Iraq and turkey have their own country ?again. should palistine have acess to the sites they had before ww1? should venezuela have the parts of there borders restored to early 1800 maps?
seems the best thing the UN could do is sit down with each country in the world and start mapping out borders.
and while a certain amount of negotiations are possible all countries should be told at the start that they have a right to exist, how much land they have is negotiable.
if its not done we will see a dramatic increase in terror no matter what our govt does.
the genie is out of the bottle. its to easy to get training and explosives or just make them.
what the US really needs to do is give up arming the world. we need to concentrate on teaching various countries how to utilize whatever resources they have be it petrochemical or agriculture but we need to get out of the arms sales.
if nagabobo wants to attack mamagogo we let them, as long as chemical, bio or radiologicals are not used. if either side uses them we turn it into glass and place a 7-11 on the site.

It won't do any good in this case, but we have to rethink our policy of forcing democratic elections.

If we can find a decent leader that we can prop up while we help build an infrastructure, and a political and economic system that will result in a dominant middle class, democracies have a chance of working. Forcing an election before they are ready is doomed to failure. It has been shown time and again.

Even Germany was democratic before Hitler took over.

Now expecting Hamas to magically drop their terror tactics and embrace Israel might happen, but then cows may start to fly too!

And I don't know about anyone else, but if I expect to see a cow, I won't anytime soon look to the sky.

Is this the 1st Democratically Elected Terrorist Govt in the ME.?
What a brilliant idea that was. Democracy at work.
In my lifetime I have done a full 180 on my opinion of Israel.
I have heard the saying "by then end of this Centuary, there won't be a country called Israel", and I now don't care.
Cheers
Phillip

The two state solution is and will be a failure from the start.

The territories assigned to become a palestinian state is not a viable one, unless it is and will be totally financed by outside entities.

The question of the millions of refugees is never going to be solved if they remain adamant on returning to their original homes and property.

Those homes and properties simply do not exist as they were in 1948.

In the mean time the Palestinian population continues to relentlessly grow at an ever alarming rate, both inside and outside of the territories.(The time-bomb gets bigger and bigger).
