Re: Do you Craigslist?

I'v recently sold a ton of stuff, some of it pretty expensive, on Craigslist. It worked very well. It is my judgement that it is best suited for those things that are not easily shipped. Also, never believe anyone who says they will come at a certain time. Tell them to be sure to call just before they leave and you will save it for xx minutes.

I would still use ebay for more obscure and smaller stuff that can easily be shipped because you get a much wider audience.

How long will Craigslist be free??? I dunno, ebay just bought a 25% stake in CL.

I never believe what anyone tells me about when they are going to be here. I tell them when I am available.....I learned that the hard way, too many times.

I did not know that Ebay bought any stake in CL....I guess it won't be free for too much longer.
A good thing never lasts long.

I had a very good moving sale on CL when I left San Diego. Works very well, if you are in an urban-metro area. If you are in the sticks, you don't stand much luck with CL.

Never used it. Looking at the local listings, apparently not many around here are either. Pretty sparse.

EBay, BTW, is rumored to be the target of a buyout. Heard that on one of the money shows on FOX. Didn't stick around long enough to hear who the potential buyer is.

Re: Do you Craigslist?

Craigslist is a great advertising tool. Just make sure you research what you are buying before you take a trip just to be dissapointed. I've chased down several outboards and found most of them were not at all as described. Some have guaranteed them to be long shaft and by the time I get there to see it the shaft somehow shrinks. Must be the cold water they are sitting in...Get a model # and research for yourself. Keep in mind, their "great shape" may be junk to you. I'm sure you are familiar with the phrase buyers are liars (not always true). For the most part be as honest and careful as possible. Patient and forgiving.

I use it ALL the time, for personal and business use.

As for personal use I don't like bringing people to my house, but when I do I am wearing a gun and let the buyers see it, just in case it's someone trying to case my joint.

I bought my excellent boat off of craigslist.

I've used it several times to sell various items and it worked great. Usually you'll have several responses within a few hours.

If you're buying, just keep in mind buyer beware.

Funny how an old thread can get revived!

Glad that it is still around and free :D

I bought my boat on there as well as other items. But buyer beware!!

I tried selling my old boat and motorcycle on there buy had better luck on Ebay. Go figure.

It is a great tool. But, like with anything, just be careful!

Usually dug up old bones (threads) are a pain . . . This one has a nice little old guard transition to new guy flavor to it. Man, I miss KaGee and Boomer both. Brother Chris hasn't been around either, good guy.

I scan Craigslist almost every day. Picked up a nice prop a few weeks back and I bought this trailer last Saturday for my Monaco project . . . Not perfect but pretty good.

I also browse CL everyday. I bought both my boats in its listings. Sold my motorcycle on CL also. Both boats were bought in different cities, the good deals are not always your local ones.

I love Craigslist. Everything I have listed sold... fast. A car in 12 hours and an engine in 6 (gotta be a record there somewhere). Cant beat it!

Yes, I use C/L all the time. Check it several times a day. Bought one of my boats and sold 3 of my motors there. Also listed an armoire, but it didn't sell, so I traded it at a furniture dealer.

Craigslist is good stuff... especially for free!
