personally i will buy anything american, i have never owned a "foriegn" car before, and yeah i know, most car are foriegn blah blah blah. I look at it like this, if you take care of it, its gonna run no matter what brand, i have seen 40 year old ford and 40 year old chevys.

had 3 chevys and one dodge, think im gonna go with the dodge from now on. my personal favorite is "Why stroke it when you can RAM it" and a close second as i have on my little ole 6 cyl 400 HP cummins "STROKE THIS!!!!"

Totally awesome cars but a ***** to work on-- Audi A6 BI Turbo. Pull the front bumper, Core support, alternator to change starter. if turbo oil feed leaks pull same parts plus drop subframe then remove motor. And it keeps getting worse. Ive swqaped 1 motor, 2trransmissions, and several catalytic converters on these cars. changing a cat is like a 3 hour tour. Vw passats are as bad with the 2.7 v6 except the absence of 2 turbos simplifies things.

Here's irony.
My dad is the manager at a foreign car repair shop. Used to be a mechanic at a different one. All the cars that he has had in the past 30 years have been GM's.

Many of the highpriced sports cars are a BI*CH to work on. Including BMW and Audi. Honda's on the other hand are easy to work on. If there is a problem it ussually will be fixed by the next model year. BMW lets there problems go on forever.

ZmOz, with one decal you doubled the value of that truck .
In the 3 years I've owned my '93 Chevy it hasn't given me a single problem. I still think Land Rover is the Best 4x4xFar though. d

I cant complain about my dodge, 1998 Ram 1500 Quad cab 2 wheel drive with a 318. Heavy duty towing packge.

225,000 miles! still holds 35+ lbs of oil pressure at idle, NO SMOKE, no leaks. replaced Tranny at 200k miles..thats it. Still pulls as strong as they day I bought it.
I will NEVER own another truck other than a dodge! next one will have a cummins turbo diesel in it..and be 4x4. SO many times I have needed another 2 wheels helping out...

If I won the lottery and didn't care about any re-sale value, I'd spray paint a picture of Osama flipping the bird on the side of my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 and park it in a military gun range with instructions for them to do their best. That truck has a frame so cheesy it shakes like a wet spaniel going over railroad tracks. The transmission is weak, the door hangs, and it is just generally a piece of crap.
As soon as my wife's car is paid off I'm buying a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD extended cab with the 6.0 liter.
