alpha one retainer nut

The book says to mark the retainer and houseing so it can go back in the same place.<br />ok what if i broke the nut getting it out, how do i know where to stop tightening the new one when i put it back together. its a 1988 attached to a 5.7liter 260hp

Factory Shop Manual Torque Value on that is 200ft/lbs......................

do they make a spanner/torque wrench for just this purpose and if so where can i get one

Click here for the upper retainer wrench. A standard 1/2" drive torque wrench fits in the small end of the retainer wrench.

Thanx for the info and the link ..whats got me confused is the torque ....if the wrench is lets say 10in long doesnt the torque change or do they take this into consideration when giveing the value

Blackz3... When using extension on torque wrenches use the formula below.<br /><br /><br />TW= TExA<br /> ________<br /> B<br /><br />A= Lever Length of Wrench<br />B= Lever Length of Wrench and Extension<br />TE= Required Torque on Bolt<br />TW= Torque Reading on Dial
