Hi there. I've been lurking around here for awhile and have finally decided to make my first post.

I just bought a '78 Crestliner Runabout with a 350 Chevy in it that needs a little work. It appears to have had quite the hack job done on the electrical, and I am taking the time to make sure all the wiring is correct and neat before starting the engine. I've attached a couple pics though because I don't have a manual and can't id these parts. They all look like starter solenoids to me, but I don't know why there would be 4. Any help would be great, including any links to wiring diagrams that could help me get this done. I can't find any on the net.

[img=http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/578/Solenoids002.th.jpg] [img=http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3251/Solenoids001.th.jpg]

Those connections look pretty nasty. It's hard to tell from the pics where these are located, but my guess would be that two of them would be for the trim/tilt motor.

You might as well consider getting an OMC manual for your engine and drive, neither setup is bolted to the right place, the first photo (002) looks like ones for the trim by looking at the color code, the second set....... who knows. I can also tell you by the "Crutch Tip" clamped onto the exhaust manifold in (001) and the burned/corroded wires on (002) that you probably have a lot more to do than identifing solenoids.
You may need to use an OHM meter to trace the wires to see what they hook to.
