'88 Imperial 260 fv

am looking for the mfg manual for this boat. want to install a water heater and am not sure if i can use a type of heater that uses engine heat while under way. all i know is that i have shore power and old water heater is gone. please help !!

You need to have a freshwater cooled engine to do that. $500.00 +or- to convert it if its not.

Thank you for your reply, the boat is in the 1000 islands, fresh water. It has a 40 gal. fresh water reserve. Gus, at Reading Boat Works suggested that I get a water heater with the heat exchanger and if I cannot use, don't install that option. Don

I dont understand your response. The engine has to be fresh water cooled meaning there is a heat exchanger on it that runs coolant to water heater to heat your water.
