Renken need adice

I just obtained a Renken walk around cuddy. I dont know the year. It has OMC I/O 3.8L 4V V6 Chevy (distr in rear), model <br />#983487, serail#384STm8com. What year boat is it? I need a service manual, <br />new ignition lock, fuel/water filter )it has a Aqua Power 6010 now), <br />oil filter, belts, hoses, plugs,... just about everything<br />Thanks<br />Brent

Does your drive have 2 pistons to raise it? If so it's a Cobra, which is 86 and up. If it has no pistons on the drive, it's a stringer which 1 model was made in 86, the rest are 85 and older. Stay away from the stringer, unless you have a good cash flow. If it has not been well maintained, you'll be maintaining it instead of using it. Good luck, sorry I can't be more specific on the year. Mercruiser can give you a year based on serial number, but I haven't heard of OMC doing it that way. My OMC actually has the date of manufacture tamped on the motor itself, but it's an inline 4cyl.

Thanks<br /><br />The boat is in FL and I spent about 30 minutes looking at it before leaving and did not take any pics. As I recall, it is a Stringer drive. The boat has sat unused for several yrs and I am tryinh to plan ahead for the next trip and get it running.
