Hello, I am new to iboats, but not new to boating. At least not brand new. I have owned a boat for 6 years. My previous boat was a 1994 Bayliner runabout with the 3.0 liter io. I had absolutely no problems with this set up. I recently purchased a 1995 Rinker Fiesta Vee 265 with the 5.7 260 horse bravo 2 set up. It runs fine. My concern is water injestion. I have read alot on here about static lines and express cruisers. There seems to be a consensus that 13 inches is the minimum "X" value you would want. Well , to the best of my judgement, my new boat has more like 9 or 10 inches. My elbows have no riseres on them and there appears to be no room for them. My question is if this is such an issue how is it that this boat has NMMA/IMCI certifiacation? Is this setup depending solely on the exhaust flappers to prevent disaster. Any thoughts or advise is much appreciated.
