Corrosion on carpet

Do you guys know of any product or home remedy that will get hardened corrosion out of boat carpet? I bought my boat used and around the anchor light mount and the ladder mounts corrosion built up over the years and is hard as concrete. I spent about 1 hour today picking at it and coating it with Corrosion X but you can still see it embedded down in the carpet and I dont want to put on new components over it and have it arise again and besides its an eyesore. Thanks...

try limeaway it work on lots of things don't know about carpet

Spray WD-40 onto the stain and leave overnight,then wash of with warm soapy water.

Thanks guys, I've been working it with Corrosion X but will try the WD 40 trick, maybe the combination will start to loosen it up! I'm new to this forum and you guys are great!

White vinegar, let it soak over night.
