A couple of you know that I recently had a bad, newly installed, water pump impeller. The dadgum brass hub spun free of the rubber. I got a RMA from GLM, sent back the impeller (originally bought the complete kit) with the proper paperwork filled out.

Well last week, a box shows up with a COMPLETE water pump kit! WooHoo! :) But the real big deal is... I just got a check for $195.00 reembursement for my time and trouble. (3 hours labor @ $65.00/HR) :D :D

Plenty gets said on this board when somebody does bad. I wanted to make everyone aware what this company did, and I never complained to them once!

That's good to hear. They do make a LOT of parts for both Cobras and stringers.

Hey KaGee, was that $195 by your asking or did they figure it out and send it to you?

Nope, I never asked for anything other than another impeller.

Was the impeller one of those new "run dry" impellers which are not supposed to sustain damage if run dry for a bit??? I tried one once and it did what yours did on the first crank of the motor and it wasnt dry.Charlie

No it was not. Worked fine for a couple of runs. On Labor day we got about 300 yards from the ramp, never above "no-wake" speed and the temp shot up to 200*+. I thought maybe I sucked up something. Got home, put the muffs on and zero water from the drive.

Great news KG. How did you buy the kit originally? Direct from them or from a retailer?

You do have an 800 Mechanical, do you not?

I have not seen one yet on Ebay. The one's I've seen to date are for the older units. That was an accessory add on you know.

Trust me, I have spent a few coin with them before this. They are an excellent source for Stringer parts.

The best I understand KaGee, they are all interchangeable from electric thru mechanical. I have an early one that does not have a complete plate for the end cap with the hose fitting on it, but I could put on the later one and it would fit and work.

I have the electric era intermediate with the 800 hydro-mech unit scabbed on.
