And he has also sold the boat since Feb. when this thread was started. and will never own an I/O again. He also doesn't come here anymore.<br />Look at the dates, most people don't have problems that last for month after month.

yeah, i bought it today. now i'm trying to figure it out.

well, I just figured I could build on what has already been said seeing as how its the same boat with the same problem. but, i stand corrected. :eek:

don, if you remember when we went thru the valves, these were the one with the shoulder on the bolt, that you just tighten down, and don't adjust, the hydrolic lifters self adjust.

only to a point,tash. hyd. lifters must be set to "0" lash plus 3/4 turn.to far down and they will actually hold the valve open.hold them open to far on startup and you can bend a few of them. I do know that the 302 ford motor is one that you torque the bolts in with no adjustment.
