I have an older (1973 model 270 outdrive and the pipes that go from the outdrive to the exhaust risers need to be replaced, how difficult is this to do in teh back yard and any idea how much the pipes run?????
I have to assume you are talking about the exhaust Y that goes to the bottom of the transom shield. Need to know what engine to be sure. But if you are refering to item 23 in the picture below, then you have to pull the drive and the engine to replace it. <br /><br />
OH boy, that's the one!!!! Gotta love that, I need to replace the manifolds and risers this year and noticed the tops of these are starting to rust/corrode away....Got any idea what that y pipe runs for a ford 302???
You have a model AQ190 which is the 302 Ford engine. The pipe lists for $525. But before you go buying the pipe, make sure you can get some aftermarket manifolds and risers. Volvo doesn't stock them any more.
