if your engine stand has one of those trays mounted on the strut that goes from the wheel frame, to the rotater, where the engine bolts up to.. i would cut that tray mounting post off right now!! i got my hand stuck between that and the lever that is used to spin the engine around today and i almost lost my hand.. i had to come from behind my back to spin the motor up to free myself. i got really lucky. please cut that off of your stand if you have a stand mounted tray.

No insult in that comment -- it's just a question. Sort of like the guy that picked up a rotary lawnmower (running of course) to trim his hedge and lost the tips of his fingers on both hands. That's an operator error. I once got a finger stuck between the panels of a garage door. 13 stiches later in a finger that resembled a spatula I realized that was an operator error. Stuff happens! To avoid the "stuff that happens to us" we would need to be rolled up in bubble wrap and we know how much fun that would be.

It wasn't meant as an insult, why was it perceived as one?<br />Who on this board hasn't heard of some person blowing up their boat? Does that mean we shouldn't boat, as a safety issue?<br />Or does it mean we should be more familiar with the equipment?<br />The engine stands I use have the rotator bar aft of the vertical support, on the opposite side of the tray.<br />Impossible to come close to the tray.
