in need of alternator and trim pump for '98 5.7L mercruiser

1998 Maxim<br />engine 0L065278<br />transom 0L261931<br />drive 0L109205<br />may have transom & drive numbers swapped,<br /><br />mercruiser 5.7L 250hp, 1998, thundervolt 5 ignition<br /><br />neighbor's boat wanted me to check why volt gauge never went over 12v and drive wouldn't raise/lower.<br />Alternator not charging and trim pump motor works if you bang on it and your lucky.<br />Got dark so I didn't get more than the serial numbers and I looked up parts quick but found a dozen alternators and 3 different design trim pumps. If one of you would be so kind to post some part numbers, manuals, exploded diagrams, detailed step-by-step instructions and winning lottery numbers I would be grateful <br /><br />I believe it's a mando alternator, seems like internal regulator and has at least 2 wires out the back in addition to the main output. Serpentine belt looks like 1" width, grooved.<br />The trim pump from what I was able to see had the oil resevoir on the bottom.<br />thanks.

I can do you one better Ron, below is the Merc site with all the parts breakdowns and numbers you could ever want. Just as your Merc dealer would see them.<br /><br /> http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/PartsExpress/HomePage/homepage.asp <br /><br />Just use "Parts for Mercury Marine Products" section for locating engine and drive parts. Use the serial numbers and just pick a dealer. Unless you actually make an order, the dealer you pick doesn't effect the parts catalog.
