I am trying to see if hydraulic fluid will correct the won't come back up problem with the outdrive, the pump motor runs, but seems to be out of fluid to drive it. Also, I have tried to find out where you put the fluid in, does it go into the plastic res. under the pump motor. The reason I seem to be stupid on this is it speaks about a level indicator in the pump housing which is above the res.???
Thanks for the help.
Richard

We don't have a clue which pump you have. Over the yeats mercury had recommended almost any oil that will come out of a can, I use dextron so if it shows up in the bilge I know where it came from

I don't know which pump it is either, I don't see any writing anywhere on it. Where else can I look for further clarification???

It would help if we knew what you had, you know Make (OMC, Mercruiser, Volvo), Model, Year, little things like that.
