Is it normal to have the flybridge shift in the opposite direction than the lower helm? For example when Im driving from the top I have to pull the gear lever down to go forward as opposed to pushing it forward to move forward (as it is on the lower helm).

I dont mind it so much but it gets confusing when your trying to pull into your berth in rough situations.

No it's not normal and it shouldn't be that way.
What kind of controls do you have and how are the cables run.

Re: FLybridge Shifting

Hi Don,

The cable I had was grey, no idea the brand. It is 12' long goes from the flybride (hooked up to the bottom of the control) , down the wire shoot into the lower helm and has about a 10" curl to the lower control.
I have pulled it out and I just recieved a new 12' cable33 supreme. It moves soooo much smoother. I tried before to switch the grey cable to the top of the control so I could push forward and go forward and it actually broke at the threads. I think with this new cable I will try to hook it up correctly. Im going to take her out this weekend, make sure of the overheating problem and try to shift form the flybridge.
