For those who are debating on whether to remove the deck or just cut the splashwell out for a transom replacement. Depending on the hull setup you can replace the transom without the extra work of taking the whole deck off. <br /><br />The process here was to remove the screws and glass only at the stern that held the deck on. I did this about 2' up. This let the deck flex out of the way to install new wood and do the glassing. <br />Glassing back in and making the cosemetics is easier and takes less skill than removing the deck. After doing the first one (this is the 2nd)I will never take a deck off again (done that too)unless it is mandatory for access.
