I am in the process of overhauling a '72 Newman tri-hull. I have already removed the seats, floor and all of the foam due rot. I put in a new floor and am waiting for some $$ to put in foam and attempt to refiberglas the floor. The transom also looks like it has rotted out. Does it need to ripped out and redone? How difficult is it to do? Do I have to remove the outboat motor also?? Can I just remove all of the nuts and bolts and the wood from the interior and put the new cut transom in and then refiberglas it? Is this going to affect the fiberglas hull?
