Me and Ccrew are proud to say Bayliner on the side of our boats. But only after we rebuild them correctly. :)

//

You're talking a salvage boat.

Here's the rule of thumb:

New engines are worth $100 per horse power.

Old engines --more or less running --are worth $10 per horse power.

Old worn out boats are free.

People will even pay you to make them dissapear from under their kitchen window.

Old trailers are worth the axles under them.
(a 2,500 pound axle costs about $180 new.)
Make a value judgement from there.

Old boat engines that won't crank & run, , they are worth the 'core deposit' on their blocks.

Add it all up,,,,,,

and ,,,, If you're capable of restoring a old boat,, that sounds like a good one to do. You have more to start with than the guy who inherited his Dad's 1958 Chris Craft Constelation.

But, if ya paid more that $7 grand for it.....

Well, you could have done better if ya'd bought it below Mason/Dixon.

Good luck with it if you go that route.

When the dust settles--- you'll have a .25 million dollar boat for under $15,000, about 2 years from now, when you're done with it.

--that means figuring your labor being worth about 9 cents an hour.

Ed.
