Anyone know there paint?

yeah I have a 72 evinrude hustler that I bought just recently and in the process of restoring it just about got it all done new carpet etc. but the paint job on the boat is a horrible yellow faded color looks like urine heh well anyways I was wondering instead of doing a pro job by bead blasting etc. if theres a cheap paint I could use maybe spraypaint problem is I dont think itll stick to the fiberglass then again I dunno throw your 2 cents in if yea have an idear that could help thanks folks

Fiberglass Holds paint Very Well,<br />As long as it's been Sanded........<br /><br />How you apply the paint is Your Choice.......

yes if i sand the boat what kind of paper shall i use to keep it from giving it that rough "scratchy" look

Either 80grit or 120 grit in a powersander.....<br />It's the fine Scratches that Hold the paint........

Funny you should mention YELLOW. Powerboat Reports recently finished their testing of marine paints. All of the yellow marine paints faded beyond their acceptability. One yellow paint whipped snot on the entire group of marine yellow paints…Rust-oleum. It’s commonly available in a spray can, too. Their conclusion: either don’t paint yellow or if you just have to, go with el-cheapo Rust-oleum.
