Guys was in Hospital for a bit will update soon, Dr said do nothing strenuous for a week or two. Yeah right Im Scottish will be back at it asap

Once the power head was off it was time to investigate the low compression on pot 4
It looks like this piston has be roasted alive.
Any other ideas as to what would make a piston deteriorate like this one ???
The 1978 and 79 140 hp had the 1 3/8 carbs(and possibly the 1977, however since the 77 had the oddball exhaust tuner, it may have had the 1 5/16 carb). 1980 and newer 140 hp and all 115 hp 1973 and newer(prop and crank rated) had the 1 5/16 carbs.
The Deflectors look OK as the rest of the block is as well.
I think it has been a replacement block not to long ago.
Will check out the carbs to night.
I dont want to end up with the same problem
