Re: hailing JasonJ

I am looking for an 18 or 19 foot aluminum hull, the worse condition, the better, as it would be a full rebuild. My end goal is a boat that is as wood free as possible, and any wood in it would be so encapsulated that it could never get wet. I want to be able to just dock and walk away, and let the bilge pump take care of any rain water. I like my current rig, and I rebuilt it as waterproof as I knew how to, but I still compulsively cover it after every use, for fear of having to ever deal with the rot again down the road. Basically an all weather boat that I can spend the day in pouring rain fishing and not give a rip because I wouldn't have that nigling doubt that somewhere, maybe some wood is getting wet or something. Probably just too much to hope for....

JasonJ I think your boderline sqiudsofishic about water. Heck put the boat in the garage and fish from there. ROFLMAO.
I understand your drive though. I never want to redo my boat and I am not even to the build stage, but so close. However after seeing your boat rebuild I have no doubt that you can fish in the rain for 50 years and never get any wood wet.
Just as long as the bildge pump never gives out. :)
