Re: Here are the before/during/after photos of my '62 MFG Niagara .
Thanks for all the nice comments.

18rabbit, the extinguisher is mounted on the splashwell in the rear. Should probably add another within reach of the drivers seat. Regarding Dudley Do-Right, I resemble that remark!

Petrolhead, sure can know how much it cost! I haven't totalled it up to the penny, but it went something like this:

Boat, motor, trailer:.........$800
Sold motor ..................- 400
Sold Trailer.................- 100
Total boat cost...............$300
Add....
Rebuilt motor, used controls
prop and vro tank, shipping..2400
New galvanized trailer........500
Carpet.........................50
Vinyl stain....................90
Guages........................120
New prop......................100
Tarp...........................30
Transom Saver..................39
Rub rail insert................24
Epoxy..........................50
Wiring supplies................30
Misc hardware $ paint.........120
Lexan for windshield...........70
Cheap-o polisher and supplies..60
Transom light..................24
Vinyl & contact cement.........22
Drain plugs (2).................8
Battery tie down...............12
Horn...........................17
Evinrude o/b manual............35
Razor blades, propane, sandpaper
gum-cutter, silicone and other
misc. supplies.................50
TOTAL.......................$4126
(check my addition)

Things that came with the boat that I didn't have to buy:
Brand new marine battery, two new 6gal gas tanks, new fuel line, new anchor, new rope, fire extinguisher, and 1st aid kit. It had a Teleflex steering helm installed, but it wasn't set up right, but works great now that it has been installed properly. The seats are in good condition, but needed to be stained white.

Because the floors and stringers in this model MFG are solid fiberglass, no work was needed for rotten wood.

I'm sure there were more expenses that I have forgotten, but I covered the major things above.

I know the boat looks nice in the photos, but if you get up close, you can see a few spider cracks on the deck, a few scratches on the gunnels and big scratches in the hull that I filled with epoxy but don't exactly match the hull color. But from 5 feet, it looks great!

Mark
