Pretty cool, but then I am a sucker for a nasty old tri-hull be converted to something more useful. Good job...

Darren,
I love what you did with the $200.00 boat.
That cockpit is pretty sweet. Are you going yo put a little wind screen up around the driver or go with goggles?
Every time I come to the boat building foum I am always amazed at the Quality and craftmanship that is displayed.
Great job!!!!

Re: Boat Conversion pics

Thanks guys, I got about a 100hrs and about $1800 into it. That includes a trolling motor, new matrix 25 fishfinder w/speed&water temp and SS prop. Slick little item. At first I was worried I was adding to much weight for the old 120, but it really gets up and moves 37 mph with just me in it. I am trying out my new ss prop, Maybe Ill hit 40mph. Nearly all the material was purchased at Home Depot and Ebay. The rear deck is 3/4 plywood, It is so darn sturdy I went with 5/8 ply up front.

Build On!!

Re: Boat Conversion pics

Blue water, Im still debating a wind screen. I live in Calif so temp isnt that big a deal. I can still put back the old windsheild but I doubt it lol I like being able to jump from the front deck to the rear deck with ease. I really can't get over how stable the boat is for fishing , even up front.

Tested the SS prop today and WOW what a difference over the composite prop. picked up about 3 mph (39 mph) and very smooth power.
