That boat could look pretty nice if you decide to buff out that paint, and put a little time into it. It's not like your going to lose any money, I guess just time! Good luck!

Thanks!

That was the plan...prob need flor ripped out..foam replaced with non-waterlogged and possibly new stringers...transom felt solid but it was 30* and snowing...so will have to re-check when it/me are not frozen.

-JustMrWill

Another Silverline owner..GREAT. They are good hulls. Mine needed new seats, but the floor/transom are still great.

The gelcoat on these things is thick also. :)

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

Im jealous though, you have a better color. Mine is almost alvacado green  .

Hey Will,

I would be surprised to find foam (as we know it) in there. There may be some styrofam blocks, but the expanding foam is relatively recent

There should be foam, there was foam in my 70 Silverline. Looks like it will be a good boat, Silverline made very durable hulls, nice thick layup.

Thanx, I just hope I get to use it this year. Very busy, so busy that I have not even been able to frequent this site like I used to...

Re: New BOAT!! 72 Silverline

Due to the wave after wave of snow we been getting..just had enough time to hop on..remove some snow...and put a tarp over it.

Didn't notice anything exceptionally wrong but everything (including me) was frozen. I think they are forcasting more of the white stuff this weekend too!
Seats need re-vinyl...wood on seats look ok. Once it warms up I can try to start her and go through everything. Best case...tune-up and I run it while I work on my other boat...worst case...I get my other boat up and running then totally re-do this one.

-JustMrWill

The motor alone is worht the price.. I've seen a lot worse being sold for actual money.

Re: New BOAT!! 72 Silverline

Guess what! I found carpet!

The temps reached a soaring 41* here today so I took the tarp off and shoveled out the snow and most of the ice that was in the boat from it being left uncovered through a few snow storms. I let the sun melt most of what was left on the floor and I found that I have grey carpet! I drilled the ice out of the transom drain hole and put a 250w heat lamp on for a few hours to "help it along"

Now that I can actually stand on the boat...the floor feels abit soft. There is a couple of spots on the transom (near the top) that the bolts holding various stuff (steering cable retainer etc) have embedded themselves into the hole a bit...may need to fix that. I will try to post some more pics tomorrow.

JustMrWill

ps - the motor is in fact a 1972 65 HP Johnson - model # 65ESL-72S.
