i have recently purchased an older 19 foot center console boat. It has a great 110 johnson VRO that has been really good so far and looks nice. However the boat needs some work on the top.The bottom is fine bar some scratches and i guess can been shined up and polished. The problem is that the surface is flaking off along the top and inside along the top. I want to take my kids on it but they will cut themsleves on the loose paint. Is it an easy task to sand and repaint? and can i match a paint with the hull so old. it is an off white cream colour. I dont want it too look really obviuosly different.
I will probably sell the boat after the summer and don't want to spend a lot. (i know tight!)
Also i paid $1500 dollars for boat, engine, and trailer. does anyone know how much the engine may be worth. thanks in advance.

Phil..ya its gonna take some doing I think.
If I saw it I could tell you for sure but it sounds like your gonna have to scrape all the loose paint, sand the rest then paint.

What type of "paint" is it? Gel or Paint ?
sounds like GelCoat if its in sharp flakes like that.
