A fellow MFG Niagara owner is starting to work on his boat. It looks like some previous owner converted the boat for fishing use and he wants to restore it to original configuration.

He sent me this pic of the seats and he wants to know how to remove them.

Thanks,
Mark.

If they won't unscrew he will have to grind the heads off remove the seat and either grind the rest flush or drive it out

Don't the seat posts come off the base so you can reach underneath to get to the other end of the nut/bolt? Isn't there a usually a metal plate on the underside?

He did say they were really solid. But that is a solid fiberglass floor too, so it could be screwed directly into the floor. The lines you see telegraphing throught the floor are the stringers. They too are solid fiberglass. After about 40 years of being walked on the stringers start to show.

I really get annoyed when people convert these old runabouts to fishing boats.
