I posses a great deal of wood working skills but never have done anything on a boat. I know how to fiberglass and i have restored a car and it came out great.(including painted it) The paint on the boat is in great shape i just dont like the color! Its an old Tahiti boat and i want to make this thing really look good again. I know nothing at all about any boating stuff except for i can lay mat and resin. Tengals i seen your work and it has really impressed me from the pics and sorry for taking so long to answer your question i just wanted to read around on iboats to make sure i didnt make a fool of myself as i did at the top. As you can see i have learned a lot just by reading posts but would still like some help. Sorry for the question at the begging of the post and the typing. Didnt mean to offend anyone because i really like iboats and want to be around for awhile. Thanks guys <br />boatman1100

Boatman, sounds like you have the skill level to do a boat restoration project to me. It is as much about the learning experience as it is about building or restoring something that you love, carefore, or will enjoy for many years. yeah, you'll prolly be ok to restore you boat with a bit of help from us. The first step, is to take some photo's and assess your boat inside and out. Look the hull over for cracks. Floor, motor, everything. Write down what you see.<br /><br />cheers

The body of the boat is in great shape. It has not many dings and is solid. No holes or anything like that. The paint on the boat is really really fairly new to tell you the truth. It was an old friend i bought the boat from and he had painted it not to long ago. The problem is he painted it red and yellow, but the interior needs some spiffing up anyways but i have that undercontrol. I will post some photos of the boat this weekend any suggestions on where to do that. Thanks Boatman1100
