Re: Creativity in boat seat design?? (pics)
This is what I have done... Don't know if this is what you'll want but you gunna learn how I did it anyways...lol

I used 2" foam, quilt batting, heay gauge plastic, 1/2" plywood, and staple gun with staples.
First I cut My plywood to size. Then using the plywood I traced my pattern on backside using pen/pencil. I then installed carraige bolts through the plywood to mount. I cut the vinyl out about 3/4" over on each side. I then cut strips 4" long. (enough to go around entire sections) My vinyl wasn't long enough so I made sure that the seams to this was on the back. You would want yours on the bottoms or sewn very neatly in the middle of the top. I simply sewed the 4" sections to the tops Along the pen/pencil markings using a regular sewing machine set on cross stitch pattern. The corners got difficult but if you go slow and turn material often you can complete it. I cut my 2" foam with regular sicors. Layed out the plastic, then quilt batting and placed 2" foam on top and then plywood on top of it. Cut plastic/batting to fit over foam and plywood leaving enough to staple a few places around to keep from moving. Then flipping over foam/plywood I pulled the vinyl over the top, then flipping to pull and staple around entire backside. I would use the quilt batting to round out the corners a bit and the plastic to keep water proof. If you haven't done already drill a few 1/2 holes across the back to allow air to escape if pressed upon. Otherwise it would feel like a balloon.

If you got any questions let me know. My corner would look alot better if I would have spent more time pushing the foam directly into it. Also when putting material over foam make sure your seem is laying the same on the under side so you get a nice even look.
