Don't scrap it. The boat shop estimated floor & stringers on my 20' Baja at $6700. I'm doing it myself for well under $1000 including some tools. I've got an E-book I can e-mail you if your interested. Its got some good info for starting out.

Re: restoring 1976 silverton sedan

they're right, dont scrap the project. all you need is a little money and lots, and lots of patience. i had to replace a stringer, and floor on my 21ft. cutty. i still need to glass the stringer and put the floor in. i'm taking my sweet time doing it, so i dont get fustrated and burnt out. keeping calm has made me want to finish the job more than ever. the day will come when i will be cruising long island sound, and i can say it was worth the time, and all the sweat i put into my project, and something i can be very proud of.

Dondero -

While you are enjoying the cold weather, just use the search function above for <stringer repair> or something similar, and you will find a WEALTH of knowledge on this site from people who've done the same thing. Just remember - RESEARCH,PLAN & PREPARE. That usually alleviates 80% of the problems with any project.

BTW - are you in the boat club off 120 by the driving range?
