Hello everyone, im new this is my first post so please bare with me.

I have a 1986 ANSWER MARINE 16' hull. It's a center console. The previous owner didn't take very good care of it. The put in some pedestal seats in and never sealed the holes up properly. To make a long story short, the foam is waterlogged.

The boat has a "liner" or a "top cap", not sure what you call it. I don't know if there is a way to remove the whole thing or what. Should i just cut a big hole in the floor to remove the foam and then patch it?

It's been inside drying for 2 months and the foam is still wet, i dont think it will ever dry out. I dont want to drill holes in the bottom of the boat so i feel like this is my only option.

Thanks in advance,

Mike Robertson

Re: Floor restoration, newbie here

just to clarify, the floor and everything is molded into the top cap. It also has 2 small battery boxes in the rear corners.

Anyone have any ideas how to tackle this project?
