Electric trolling motor

Was thinking of getting a Electric trolling motor with 46 pound thrust. I have a 16 foot fiberglass boat and was just going to get it in case my 65 merc lets me down. Would it bring me in from the Lake on a nice calm day.If im not out to far maybe 2 -4 miles or should i go gas motor. Never used an Electric so Im not sure.

I think I would go with a small gas motor<br /> something that you could hook to the existing fuel tank so you dont need a separate tank.<br /> While the trolling motor would get you in eventually. You would need a deep cycle battery<br /> kept at full charge.This could be your regular use battery but what if the reason your stranded is a dead battery.
