Just purchased an 8 way ground distribution strip for my little boat. Is there anything I can spray on this thing after I get done wiring it up so it won't get corroded? I'm putting it in my little 12 foot boat and fish saltwater a lot....Thanks Warren

Wasen't able to find the Oxidation Compound at the Home Depot or Lowes by my house....Can I just slop some wheel bearing grease on there??? I don't think the Grease is conductive so it should be O.K....Right.....

Re: Boat wiring question

Would ''dielitic grease'' (spelling may be off) do the job? It should be available in any automobile supply store and is usually found with the wiring, fuses, electrical supplies.

Re: Boat wiring question

Thanks Rabbit, I just jumped right over it :D . I too, thought of dialectric grease. Should work. I'm having the same problem with my trolling motor plug and looking for solutions. I think I have one, but it has nothing to do with the compound. ( Well, maybe a little) I think JB fixed me right up on this one...

LPS-3 comes in a spray can and works great. It dries to a tacky film.

Re: Boat wiring question

Consider an appropriate size sealed plastic electrical box from Lowes or HD. This and the protectant would be an excellent way to go for an open boat.
