I have BoatUS insurance for a 1999 Glastron ski boat with a 4.3 Mercruiser engine. $157.00 per year.

Not sure why you would want to insure a 38 year old boat unless it is a collectors item. But then it would probably be cheap.

Arlan

On an older boat it is more important to get liability insurance,in order to avoid a suit for any damage you cause. If the boat was stolen can you afford the loss?

Did a little research on this. I came up with BoatU.S. as the cheapest also.

My 2355 cierra runs $230 a year with BoatUS. They were almost the same as State Farm for me, but they do include Membership at BoatUS.

I ended up with St Paul via West Marine. They were slightly less expensive for my boat (1985 Wellcraft 248 Offshore). Depending on your needs, be sure to look for an agreed upon value policy with a boat that old, otherwise they will depreciate it to nothing. Like stated above, you are probably most interested in liability. Good luck, happy boating.

Alot has to do with motor size and type of boat. $23.50 a month for my Ranger. That is full coverage on boat, motor, trailer, and equipment.

Would 1 years worth of full coverage cost as much as the boat? Go with liability for sure.

Re: fishing boat insurance....how much?

Howdee snowb67891
I am an insurance agent in Washington for many years. Most boats like the one you have described are priced out by the current market value you place on it. The price per hundred is usually determined by type of boat, year, length & horsepower, inboard, outboard etc. I recommend you try & insure your boat with the company that has your auto & or home if the prices are reasonable. My company gives a nice discount on your boat if we insure your home. I priced out a boat similar to what you have described with a value of $2,000 for boat motors & trailer (with home discount) annual cost 47.00 a year. Same boat at 4,000 value $60.00 both examples include a 100,000 liability and some accessory coverage as well.
While it's not always possible most companies value an insured that tries to have all their business with one company. Different companies do things differently of course.

I hope this has been somewhat helpful.
