Hello I am new to this board. I did a quick search and didn't find the answer to my query.

I have a MinnKota trolling motor, bow mounted. I want to utilize a fish finder from a boat I am getting rid of.

I mounted the transducer to the bottom of the trolling motor, however, the cable presents a problem. I can't zip-tie it to the shaft as the shaft goes through a yoke on deployment/retrieval.

As it stands, the cable, will flap in the breeze.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks

Steve

Steve – I don’t fish, don’t have a trolling motor, and can’t visualize what you are asking. But otherwise, welcome to the forums! :)

Someone else here will know…

Re: TM transducer cable mount

Is it a power drive or auto pilot by some odd chance ? If so the instructions in the manual for mounting a transducer worked well for me. They say to drill a hole large enough for the transducer cable to fit throught the little fin on the top of the motor head in the front. Then cable tie the cable at the bottom above the locking collar. Then stretch the cable up along the shaft. Leaving just enough slack so the cable doesn't get caught when the motor is being deployed. Then cable tie above your depth adjustment collar. It sounds kind of awkward but it works great for me. I have had it this way for about a year and a half with no problems what so ever. :)
