fish finder question

hi i just hooked up a basic new hummingbird fishfinder , on land it says 7 ft then 8ft then 0<br />i cannot take boat out till sunday, is this normal<br />bob

the instructions were crappy for use...so i just went to there site to download and print instructions, i might have been in demo mode?????????

Fishfinders do not work out of the water. they somtimes do nothing, and somtimes do screwy things. Either would be considered normal out of the water.
