Re: GPS Module not responding -Help-

Not sure if this will help on this type unit. It works on the Trimble equipment I use as a surveyor. Your GPS module is the receiver that logs data from the satelites, check your owners manuel and see if there is chapter on rebooting or clearing the receivers memory. That should take care of the problem. If it don't check to see if the receiver has a seperate power supply. Most often it is small battery that only supplies enough power to keep the receiver in standby mode even when the main power supply is off. Kind of like a backup battery on a clock radio. Hope this helps.

MichaelR,
Yes the white domed-shaped thing is your GPS receiver, should have LGC 12W or something like that written on it. Questions: Could you have whacked the receiver? Could the cable be cut or the insulation rubbed off somehow? Have you checked the connection at the head unit?

I have the same unit, one time mine did the same thing as yours. Somehow the connector got loose. I simply tightened it back and everything worked as normal.
JD

I'm on my 3rd Reciever for my LCx-15mt. I can tell you from experience that your unit is probably bad. If it is not mounted soundly it will eventually go bad. I had mine on a pice of PVC which caused it it vibrate in harsh waters. Now it's mounted directly to the boat surface. The only good news is your reciever is probably the older non WAAS type the new ones are WAAS enabled so it's more accurate. Bad news is it cost 175$.

I just bought a new 335 c from Lowrance which requires that the GPS aerial is supplied with 12v apart from the set itself. Whilst I cannot be sure yours is the same I would check with a voltmeter whether you are getting that supply to your aeriel. Bear in mind yours may not be the same so consult your manual first. Without 12 v mine comes up with the same error message.
ANdy
