Don't use a fuse in the trolling motor circuit. You should use a 30 amp re-settable circuit breaker. Hitting a log or rock, or getting into sand/muck can cause a high, but momentary spike in current flow. This will blow a fuse but not a circuit breaker. The breaker works by heat and is therefore better suited for this high-current circuit. These are just a couple of bucks and easy to install. Much less frustration than having to deal with fuses.
