Is it realistic to think that the above referenced motor could get me out of a jam if my 16' bayliner with 155HP outboard dies on me?

Thanks...

In my opinion, that boat and engine are too heavy for that trolling motor. If there is any wind or current, you will not get very far.

I think anything at or above 55lb thrust will do the trick, Massimo.

Call Minn Kota ,ask for tech. assist. They know down to the ounce, what boat, in what conditions, you would need. Also ask what battery size for how long.

My 55lb MK will drag my 17'Starcraft with a 60hp outboard around 4 mph for a couple of hours. It think 55lbs is the highest rated thrust troller that will operate off of 12V

unless you plan to use the trolling motor for other uses, a towboat u.s. membership is a good substitute.
