Just bought a 89 Searay 30DB Sedan Bridge, And have noticed that 4 to 5 power indicator lights on the shorepower side will flicker intermittantly. The 12V indicator lights do not. I was told that when they get old they will start flickering then die. So ,I was going do replace them, until I noticed last night that when the lights inside the boat were off, the lights would flicker, but when I would turn on a light, they all burn constant. I thought that it was just the fact that it was dark they are easier to see flicker, but I have confirmed that they really do hold constant when you turn on a light.... Any ideas.?????

You probably have neon lights for indicators for shore power. Neon lights will do exactly what you have noticed.

I wouldn't worry about it though. Neon lights last a long long time.

Will the ones that are flickering like the a/c ones also do that?

They should remain on constantly. It sounds like like the lights are completing a poor resistance path for them. Have someone fix the problem.

What I am asking is that I really don't care that the lights are flickering if they are just old, but I am concerned that there is a ground problem or something else. Should I be concerned?

With the symptoms you have given, I would not expect the flicker is any indication of a problem, just of age of the indicator lamps.
