HI THERE PULLED THE PLUGS SPRAYED CYLINDER WITH FOG FINGER TIGHTENED THE PLUGS, DIDNOT CONNECT THEM TURNED THE ENGINE OVER THE CABLES TO MY BATTERY GOT HOT AND NOW IT JUST MAKES A CLICKING SOUND THE BATTERY WAS CONNECTED PROPERLY WHAT DID I DO
Hello, Miloman.

Welcome to the board.

All capitals is viewed as shouting on the net. Please don't shout.

I think you got too much oil in one cylinder and created a hydraulic lock. That is easy to do with a looper.

Remove the plugs and see if it will spin with the starter and a fully charged battery.

Let us know.
Sounds like a loose or corroded connection. go through it and make sure all connections are tight and clean. From the battery to the starter and the wires on the starter. Grounds Too! Jump out selonoid and see if it goes. also. As JB said, take out the Plugs, first!
how do I jump out the solonoid you know ask me how to build a house no prob this is a new area to me I ordered a manual from I boat so once I have it I might just listen and help as I can
Use a insulated wire(Romex for example) (14 Gauge) and jump from Large starter wire that goes to the Battery to the small terminal+ on the Starter. Beware, sparks will fly, but won't hurt you! You might check with a Meter to make sure you have at least 12 Volts to the Starter wire before trying to jump it!
im going to try it in the morning seems like I brunt out the soloniod if I get the drift when I fogged the motor the can did say make sure everything is grounded I didnt do that so what would be the first thing to burn out
Miloman.... As Rick has stated above, check your cables for a tight and clean connection. A hot cable indicates that the hot cable is either loose, or appears tight but has dirty corroded connections, or the cable is faulty.

Usually it's a case of a dirty connection. Whatever cable is hot, remove it, clean it and the other portion of the connection thoroughly ie cable ends and battery posts, etc.
well I hope that thats all there is with this but as I said earlier if not what would be the first thing to short out etc what are some of the possible things I could have damaged
Miloman
Do you still have all the plugs out?? If not take them out and leave out. Take the cover off of the motor and see if you can turn the flywheel. Did it turn easy?? If it does turn easy by hand then you probably did damage something in starter. If it turns hard the problem is not the starter, but the engine.
ok you guys told me to check and change the connections I changed my connections seemed like the positive needed it anyway traced back all the connections to my motor all fine I keep my batteries on trickle charges so its fine too connected it turned the key click click again where to from here
I've been there just like you. At this point, since its only a few bolts, no grease, and nothing heavy - why dont you just take the starter off and take it to an alternator/starter repair place. They don't usually charge that much to fix, and would at least give you a diagnosis.
I got my manual today and yup it was real simple I removed the startor and its getting rebuilt for $85 seemd ok to me also ordered the seal kit for my lower unit the manual makes it seem fairly straight forward so Im going to do that this weekend. I went looking for motors but turned cold when I saw some of the prices they want for a new motor so I think for the $400 or so Im going to repair this baby Im sure Im going to be back on many times because some of you really know your stuff. thanks
regards
Louis
